Milking Technician PT All Shifts -- Morning, Afternoon/Eve, Weekends/Weekdays

Shepherd’s Way Farms offers flexibility and an interesting, varied professional farm environment with ongoing training.
The Sheep Dairy Technician is responsible for milking sheep, parlor sanitation, assisting with animal care (watering, bedding, feeding), routine farm chores. During lambing, additional responsibilities and hours possible.
The ideal milking team member is energetic and reliable, works well with animals and find satisfaction in a job well done? This work requires stamina, attention to detail and to the big picture, the ability to lift 50 lbs and a can-do work style.
Animal experience required, milking experience, sanitation knowledge, and skidsteer and general repair experience useful. Must be able to work well independently and as part of a small team.
Compensation based on experience & productivity, includes paid time off and a cheese share.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States and available to begin work within two-four weeks. Proficient English required.
Multiple shifts available: Weekend AM 6-11am; Weekend PM 4-9pm; Weekday AM 6-11, PM 4-9pm Additional hours may be available.

​​​Farmers Market Sales Associate -- Fill In
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable individual to join our team at Twin Cities farmers markets as a sales rep who works various markets as needed. This weekend position is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with customers and is passionate about promoting high-quality, locally produced sheep cheese, sheep milk, and lamb.

Position Details:

Role: Farmers Market Sales Associate – Sheep Dairy & Lamb Products

Schedule: Various Saturdays and Sundays, filling in at markets as needed (not necessary to commit to all weekend days of every weekend -- availability through Oct preferred) Early morning hours, depending on market - 5am-2pm if transporting from farm, 9am-1pm for Apple Valley. (Actual market hours: Mill City hours 8am-1pm, St Paul 7am-1pm, Apple Valley 10am-1pm)

Location: Rotating between Mill City Farmers Market, St Paul Farmers Market Lowertown & Apple Valley Farmers Market (St Paul Farmers Market on Sundays)
Key Responsibilities:

Welcome and engage customers with detailed information about our local sheep cheese, milk, wool and lamb products

Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently

Load van at farm in Nerstrand (near Northfield) and drive to market site.

Set up and break down the market stall

Ensure the display is attractive and products are well-stocked

Educate customers on the benefits and unique qualities of sheep dairy and lamb products

Foster a warm, community-oriented atmosphere at the market
What We’re Looking For:​

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A passion for local food and a knack for storytelling about its origins

Ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment

Previous sales or customer service experience is a plus, but not required

Reliability and availability to work Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season

Able to lift 50 lbs
-
Good driving record
Compensation: $18.50-20/hr
